JAMMU: Much to the relief of parents of private schools’ students, the Directorate of School Education Jammu, successfully conducted an online grievance redressal camp, attended by the Directorate officials, Fee Fixation committee representative, the representatives of private schools and the  parents of students of such schools.

The webinar was organised on the directions of Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education Jammu as per the commitment of the Directorate regarding redressal of complaints of parents of private schools’ students and in-order to have a direct interface with the parents.

It was the first of the series of webinars to be organized by the Directorate to address the issues of the parents including the ones that have originated due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting disruptions in regular class work at schools.

The parents directly brought their issues, grievances and queries to the notice of the Director School Education Anuradha Gupta and Joint Director Shokat Mahmud who took on-spot decisions and passed on necessary directions to the concerned officials and office bearers for their redressal.

Most of the grievances related to cases where admission fee/ annual charges had already been charged and needed to be adjusted-in the light of Govt order on the subject, where online education was denied, issuance of TCs etc. All the cases were amicably settled to the satisfaction of parents as well as private schools.

Addressing the parents, Anuradha Gupta said that the Directorate is committed towards ensuring that no student or his parent suffers in any way and that every single student and his well being was important for the  Directorate of school education,  Jammu. She further added that in case any school is found guilty of flouting the norms, rules or regulations, strict action will be taken against the erring school as per  law. She also requested parents to spread this message among other aggrieved parents to join such online camps which shall be regularly held. Most of the private schools also appreciated and welcomed the step of the directorate.

She also requested the parents to come forward with their complaints, if any, in future as well and assured them that the Directorate will take every possible step to address their grievances. She further announced that such grievance redressal camps will be organized by the Directorate at regular intervals for the benefit of one and all while an order has already been passed by the Directorate in this regard.
