August 13: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Sopore have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Manchipora Rafiabad intercepted an individual identified as Abdul Rashid Mir resident of Soin Sadnar Rafiabad. During checking officers were able to recover 150grams Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Dangiwacha where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 98/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation in the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
