Kulgam Police solves burglary case; 02 accused persons arrested

May 31: Police in Kulgam have solved a burglary case by arresting two accused persons involved in the commission of crime.

Police Post Mirbazar received different complaints regarding burglaries/thefts occurred in their jurisdiction. Accordingly, Police Post Mirbazar intensified patrolling and surveillance activities to stop such burglary/theft incidents. With strenuous efforts and swift action by team of Police led by In-charge Police Post Mirbazar under the supervision of SHO PS Qazigund & SDPO Qazigund, a list of suspects was prepared. During questioning of the identified suspects, investigation was zeroed on in at one person identified as Majid Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Hameed Dar resident of Manigam.

During further questioning, the said suspected person confessed that he is consuming drugs and to arrange money he indulges in burglary activities and so far he had made innumerable burglaries. He also confessed that after stolen the things/items, he sold such stolen things/items to one person namely Azad Ahmad Naik son of Sanaullah Naik resident of Nassu Badragund who in turn gave him drugs. Police has so far recovered one stolen sheep from his possession. Both the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, case FIR number 118/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Qazigund. Further investigation into the matter is in progress and more arrests and recovery are expected.

Community members have appreciated the efforts made by the Police for solving the burglary case. Our efforts should assure community members that Police is resolved to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities.
