Srinagar, 22-Jan:The J&K UT Administration Has Shown Itself In Extremely Poor Light By Canceling The Allotment Of Office Accommodation Meant For Kashmir Press Club; This Is Extreme High-Handedness said Prof. Saifuddin Soz, Former Union Minister in a statement.“The J&K UT Administration has shown itself in an extremely poor light by canceling the allotment of office accommodation meant for Kashmir Press Club. This is an extreme High Handedness on the part of J&K Govt.In a statement issued to CNS, Soz said that the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Administration has behaved in an extremely undemocratic way by canceling the accommodation of the Kashmir Press Club which is known widely for its smooth conduct of business, as per law of the land.”I have information of wide-spread public resentment against this undemocratic action of the Administration against the Press Club”, Soz added. What does the J&K Union Territory Administration expect from the Media in Kashmir? Does it want the Media to sing its praises all the time? Isn’t India a Democracy? Is Kashmir not a part of Indian Democracy? It is definitely a disservice by the J&K UT Administration to Indian Democracy. The J&K UT Administration should know that Kashmir also deserves ‘A Free Press’.What the J & K Administration has done against the press, is totally undemocratic and every person will condemn and reject this action of the Govt.”(CNS)
