DC Srinagar review Quality Check, Digitization of land records

SEP 12, 2020 SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary reviewed the progress in digitization of revenue records of District Srinagar at a meeting convened at RTI Bemina. The meeting attended by Regional Director, Survey & Land Records Mohammad Qasim Wani, Addl Deputy Commissioner Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Asstt Commissioner Revenue Rou fur Rehman, Executive Engineers PWD, Revenue Consultants, senior officers of the department and M/S Ramtech finalised the augmentation of infrastructure and manpower to complete the digitization process in next six weeks. It is pertinent to mention here that District Srinagar completed updation of 100% Jamabandis of all 137 Revenue Halqas in June 2020, many of these updated after 40-60 years. The scanning and quality check of the revenue documents has been underway and additional staff has been deputed for fast-pacing completion of the process. Presently, 116 out of 137 Jamabandis were under digitization after quality check, which include 90 of them completed and printout provided to Tehsildars for more than 60 Revenue Halqas in bilingual mode. District Administration, Srinagar has constructed a pre-fabricated hall at Bemina for providing additional space to accommodate quality check and digitization teams while M/S Ramtech deputed additional manpower to complete the process well within set timelines. Presently, 28,76,916 revenue documents have been scanned against the progress of 8,56,966 in July 2019, more than 10 Lakh documents have been quality checke, while all the village maps submitted by the revenue departments stand scanned. The digitisation process will make the service delivery easier. The Revenue Department has initiated the CORS-technology based land survey. Under the Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) the measurement of land parcels shall be done with the help of electronic GPS locator stick called Rover which shall send the information of GPS coordinates to the nearby CORS stations which shall correct the coordinates with the help of information obtained continuously from about 300 satellites. The accuracy of the measurement under CORS technology is upto 5 Centimetres. The project has been designed and being implemented by the Revenue department under supervision of Principal Secretary Revenue / Financial Commissioner, Revenue Dr Pawan Kotwal. DC Srinagar directed the officials from revenue department for multi-shift work on quality check, scanning and digitization to complete the left-over work within next six weeks enabling the district to move ahead to next step. Meanwhile, work on 10 Model Revenue Offices is also nearing completion which was inspected by the Deputy Commissioner in various areas of District Srinagar.
