‘FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN 2.0’ campaign at Srinagar

August 13 (CNS): Principal Secretary to Govt. Youth Services & Sports Department J&K, Shri Alok Kumar today launched FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN 2.0 here at Nehru Park Srinagar. The campaign is a part of FIT INDIA MISSION with the Slogan ‘FITNESS KA DOSE, AADHA GHANTA ROZ’ in order to encourage citizens to make physical activity a routine in their daily lives.The campaign has started at Pan India level today and will continue till 2nd of October 2021. Shri Anurag Thakur, Union Minister Youth Affairs and Sports, e-launched the campaign ‘Fit India Freedom Run 2.0’ this morning to commensurate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav’- a 75 week programme, commemorating 75 years of Independence. In J&K UT the campaign was launched for all the 20 districts today and a special activity follow-up calendar has been issued by the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports J&K to celebrate the campaign effectively.At the launching ceremony, Shri Alok Kumar flagged off the freedom run that was attended by about 400 participants including students, citizens and field employees of District Youth Services & Sports Office Srinagar. A closing function was organized at SKICC lawns at the culmination of the Run. Director Youth Services & Sports J&K Gazanfar Ali, Special Secretary YS&S Department Mohd Ashraf Bhat, Joint Director Kashmir YS&S, Bashir Ahmad, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Srinagar Balbir Singh, Principal Govt College of Physical Education Hartej Singh among others attended the launching ceremony today.The event was organized by District Youth Services & Sports Office Srinagar.(CNS)
