Under LG Admin, Grievance redressal mechanism strengthened: Advisor Bhatnagar

SRINAGAR: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today said that the grievance redressal mechanism has been strengthened under the LG Administration with specific objective of timely disposal of public grievances and effective public service delivery.The Advisor made these comments while interacting with public deputations and individuals at the weekly public outreach programme held at Lieutenant Governor’s Grievance Cell Church Lane here.Around 70 public deputations and individuals called upon the Advisor Bhatnagar and apprised him about their issues and problems and sought their early redressal.A deputation of Public Welfare Committee Ahmedpora Baramulla demanded establishment of Women’s College and Health centre in their area besides establishment of Animal and Sheep Husbandry centre. They also demanded start of operations of JK Bank branch already established in the area besides upgradation of their area from Niabat to Tehsil.Another deputation of SHG of Engineers raised the issue of quota abolishment in allotment of government contracts with the Advisor. They demanded restoration of quota and other benefits.A delegation from Shalimar area of Srinagar raised the issue of water scarcity in their area with the Advisor and demanded change of water pipes. They also demanded upgradation of health centre and availability of doctors there.Likewise a deputation of Auqaf Committee Masjid Shareef Nigeen Bagh Sopore raised the issue of water scarcity with the Advisor and sought immediate redressal for the same. They also demanded installation of street lights in their area and proper drainage system.Another delegation of JK Casual Labours United Front demanded early release of pending wages and regularization of their services whileas a deputation of Casual Employees of SKIMS demanded regularization of their services and other related benefits.Similarly a delegation of Contractor Coordination Committee demanded early release of payments of their completed works under SDRF whileas a deputation of contractors working with JKPCC demanded release of payments and removal of qualification clause for allotment of works through tenders.A deputation of health employees working under Hospital Development Fund scheme demanded increase in their wages and release of pending salaries whileas a delegation of Unemployed Dental surgeons demanded recruitment policy for dental surgeons and creation of posts for the same.One more delegation of Taxi Stand Drivers Union Iqbal Park affected due to widening of road and flyover demanded space for new taxi stand for their operations whileas a deputation of Falah Bahbood Committee Hyderia Colony HMT raised the issue of drainage problem with the Advisor. They demanded proper drainage system besides development of interior roads and lanes in the areaThe Advisor listened to each of them patiently and assured them that all of their genuine demands will be redressed on priority while several grievances were sent on spot to the relevant departments for their early resolution.During the hearing, the Advisor directed the HODs of various departments to facilitate the public at all levels and redress their grievances, issues timely and effectively.Chief Engineers of R&B, Jal Shakti, PMGSY, JKPCC, RTO Kashmir, Director Fisheries, Director Sheep Husbandry and other officers of allied departments were also present during this public outreach programme.
