A 38-year-old Sanitary Inspector on Monday allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in north Kashmir district of Kupwara.Official sources said that a sanitary Inspector, identified as Shabir Ahmad Lone, consumed some poisonous substance at his residential quarter in Tangdhar in Kupwara on Monday morning. “Lone was immediately taken to the health centre from where he was airlifted to sub-district Hospital Kupwara,” they said.They said Lone was later referred to a hospital in Srinagar in a critical condition. “It was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step,” they said, adding police has registered a case and initiated investigation to ascertain the circumstance which forced him to attempt suicide.
