Jammu today kick started a week long Special Summer Camp under Clean India Campaign, an initiative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. The camp started under the patronage of worthy principal Prof. (Dr) Sameru Sharma. In her message she told that with the help of cleanliness, we can keep our physical and mental health clean, which will make us feel good. Cleanliness gives rise to a good character by keeping body, mind, and soul clean and peaceful. It also brings good and positive thoughts in the mind which slows down the occurrence of diseases. NSS P.O gave the detail of various activities in the camp. The various activities to be organised in this camp are signature campaign for awareness and protection of our planet earth, awareness rallies, Plantation drive, cleanliness drive in and out the campus, visit to the nearest villages for awareness of different govt. schemes, debate & poster making competition on various themes, visit to the nearest water bodies for their preservation and cleanliness etc. The day one of the camp was started with cleanliness drive inside the campus. NSS volunteers started massive cleanliness drive at the campus grounds, lawns, class rooms, labs and parking areas. The camp is organised by NSS volunteers Mandeep Singh, Paras Gupta, Sunidhi Sharma, Nikansh Panotra, Jaanvi Sharma, Harshdeep and Rakshant Balotra under the guidance of NSS Programme officer Dr. Raman Gupta. In his address he said that maintaining cleanliness is the essential part of healthy living because it is the cleanliness only which helps to improve our personality. It is everyone’s responsibility and one should keep himself and his surroundings clean and hygienic.
