    Srinagar,30-Mar: The body of a missing teenage girl was recovered from river Jhelum at Chreshbal area of Mujgund on Wednesday morning.Sources told that a 17-year-old girl from Rainawari area of Srinagar had gone missing from her home on 23rd march following which family had lodged missing report in PS Rainawari.Pertinently on same day, an unidentified person jumped off from Cement Kadal into river Jhelum in Noorbagh area of Srinagar.Eyewitness said that the person appeared at the bridge and in the blink of a moment jumped into the river – Jhelum – below.Soon after the news spread, teams of police including SDRF assisted by locals launched a search operation and ventured into the water body to rescue the person. Today the River Police fished out her body at Kreshbal Srinagar which falls under the jurisdiction of police station Parimpora.Official sources confirmed to that the missing girl had allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum from Cement Kadal Qamarwari on 23rd March.The body was fished out and later handed to local police for legal medico formalities after which the body was handed over to family.(CNS)
