Srinagar, 31-Jan; The drivers who are unable to unload fertilizers and other stuff at Kashmir Kissan agriculture co-operative marketing LTD in Nowgam area on Monday staged a protest against the Kashmir Kissan for failing to unload their loaded trucks. The protestors said that their requests for unloading the trucks turned into deaf ears. They added that “number of trucks were illegally unloaded without their turn” and demanding unloading of the vehicles as early as possible as it has marred their livelihood.“We have been staying along the road for the past four days, we are stuck between loading and unloading and now we are running out of stock and money,” one of the drivers said. The protestors alleged that among 100 trucks only 9 trucks have been unloaded in past 3 days.Another driver said that we are being forced to stay on the roads for days together as the Manager resorts to dilly-dally tactics in unloading fertilizers and other stuff from the trucks. When contacted, Manger termed the allegations baseless and said that some truck drivers are basically agitated as their trucks haven’t been unloaded yet because.“We are unloading trucks according to protocol, rest we can’t stop drivers from protesting,” he said.(CNS)
