ATM cards thrown in water Locals aghast; demand action against

    Poonch 27Aug: The people of Loraan area of Poonch district earlier complained about poor Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service by Jammu and Kashmir Bank. Many angry customers had even threatened to close their accounts, if concerned authorities fail to improve the ATM service in the district.The same request was taken into consideration and service was improved but to the agony of consumers. Instead of giving updated ATM cards to the consumers, they were thrown into the water body,“I recently applied for an ATM card from the Loran branch of J&K bank. Despite repeated requests to the concerned officials, I am yet to receive the same” said Aijaz Ahmad.Business and shopkeepers working in the area complained that the Bank here is giving tough time to the customers as they are not able to use their ATM cards for business purposes.”Is it a sin to be poor, how long do we have to endure oppression of these officials? Questioned Bashir Ahmad Every day we need to do transactions for our livelihood, but to our shock. Instead of receiving Atm card from bank authorities, I found the same floating in the nearby water body’’, said one of the consumer The locals of the area have requested higher officials to take strict and immediate action against those involved in this act.(CNS)
