AHD targets to sanction 200 dairy units to promote Budhal as Milk Village: Dr Doifode

    Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Dr. Sagar D. Doifode, today said that the AH department is going to sanction 200 dairy units (comprising of five cattle/buffaloes each) for Budhal under the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme to pave the way for the establishment of first ‘Milk Village’ in the region.He was addressing the local farmers at an impressive Awareness camp organized by the Animal Husbandry Department Rajouri in Budhal area. The Director Animal Husbandry Jammu along with his team of officers was on a visit to the far-flung Budhal area to interact with the farmers and to make them aware about different farmer-centric schemes being implemented by the Animal Husbandry Department in the Jammu division.The Director said that spreading awareness about economic development schemes being run by the department is critical to create an enabling environment to achieve inclusive growth of farmers.The Director further said that the department is committed to the welfare of the farming community and asked the concerned officers to work with utmost dedication and sincerity for the betterment of farmers in these far-flung areas.The Director laid special emphasis on timely and effective implementation of all the centrally sponsored as well as UT schemes and cautioned the officials to avoid unnecessary delays in this regard.During the awareness camp, the farmers put forth several demands pertaining to the development of the dairy sector in the region.After giving them a patient hearing, the Director Animal Husbandry announced the establishment of 200 dairy units (comprising five cattle/buffaloes each) in the area under the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme to establish the first ‘Milk Village’ in the region.Responding to the grievances projected by the public during the course of interaction, the Director Animal Husbandry issued on spot instructions for immediate redress of the same with the cooperation of the district administration Rajouri. The Director Animal Husbandry Jammu also distributed Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs) amongst the beneficiaries from Budhal and adjoining areas.Earlier, the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Rajouri Dr. Fazal Hussain Soze briefed the Director about the achievements of the Animal Husbandry Department in the Rajouri district.Block Development Council (Budhal), Chairperson Shameem Akhtar; Member Kisan Advisory Board, Rashid Saleem, PRI members, Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu Krishan Lal, Senior officers from the district administration Rajouri, District officers from Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments including Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, a large number of farmers, breeders and general public of Budhal and adjoining areas were present on the occasion.
