Leh: Dec, 09: The Executive Councillor for Rural Dev. Dept. Tashi Namgyal Yakzee chaired a meeting of all the BDOs of Leh district headed by ACD, Leh Sonam Norboo at Council Secretariat Leh today to review the progress of different works under Capex Budget 2020-21, SDP, MGNREGA, CD Normal, Development of Panchyat, BADP, RURBAN, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awaas Yojana (PMGAY) and Project Tsangda in the district and the future plan of department to speed up the projects.
ACD Leh Sonam Norboo informed the meeting that Rural Dev. Dept. got a major jump in allocation of funds with about 410% hike as ₹ 24 crore was approved including ₹ 16.69 crore in CD Normal and ₹ 7.30 crore under Development of Panchyats this year as compared to last year ₹6 crore.
While taking detailed progress reports from ACD, Leh and concerned BODs about the status and progress of works, EC Yakzee observed that due to COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in the district during past working season the targets of works could not be achieved fully. He directed ACD, Leh and BDOs to ensure completion of all papers works including tendering procedures during winter months so that all works could be started timely in the next working season. Tashi also directed ACD Leh to expedite works which could be completed during winter months.
