Kulgam , July 15: Kulgam police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler and recovered three quintals of poppy straw from his possession.In a statement issued to Kulgam police mentioned that under the direction of the direction of SSP Kulgam Gurinder Pal, a team headed by DySP Head Quarters GM Bhat along with SHO Kulgam Jazib Mohammed arrested a drug peddler identified as Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Son of Khizar Mir, resident of Bumrath Kulgam.The statement added that on his confession three quintals of poppy straw were required from his hideout.An FIR number 174/2021 under 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered by Kulgam police.“Five quintals 35 Kg poppy straw and 500 Charas was recovered by Kulgam police during one month’s time only” statement adds.Meanwhile the Kulgam police has cautioned the miscreants that any drug peddling activity will be dealt under relevant provisions of law.
