November 10: Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Srinagar have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
Officers from police post Bemina have arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as Hilal Ahmad Gassi son of Ghulam Nabi Gassi resident of Boat Colony Bemina Srinagar. Officers were able to recover 40 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from his possession.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 247/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Parimpora and investigation set into motion.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police has resolved to deal robustly with drug peddlers.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
