Appeals the youth lured to militancy to shun the path of destruction
SRINAGAR, 29 AUGUST: Lauding the successful twin encounters in Shopian and Pulwama, the Director General of Police, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh said that local youths who are willing to shun the path of violence and destruction are always welcome to live a peaceful life with their families.
The Director General of Police, J&K today visited the twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian of South Kashmir to review the security scenario and Law & Order of these districts and also to appreciate the Police personnel, Army and CRPF officials on the success of the back to back encounters in which seven militants were neutralized and one militant surrendered. He also paid homage to the soldier who was martyred in the encounter in Pulwama. The DGP, J&K was accompanied by the IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar.
Shortly after his arrival at Pulwama the DGP briefed the media persons in DPO Pulwama about the successful operations at Pulwama and Shopian. He said that Al Badr district commander Shakoor Parray and his accomplices were involved in various heinous crimes. He said that they were involved in the abduction and then killing of Khanmoh Panch. The DGP said that Shakoor Parray and his accompalices were also involved in the recruitment of local youth into the militancy.
The DGP congratulated Suhaib Bhat and his parents who surrendered during the encounter at Shopian. He expressed his hope that all those persons who have been lured to join the militancy will choose the right path by surrendering and will shun the path of violence and destruction. He said that neither in the past nor in future the path of violence has proved beneficial. The DGP appealed on behalf of Police and security forces to all those youths who were lured and pushed by the Pakistan sponsored militants on the path of violence and destruction to come and join the peaceful life with their families.
Later on, chairing the security review meetings with senior officers of Police, Army and CRPF in these districts Shri Singh stressed for continuous coordination and synergy among the forces for better deliverance at different levels. He said that accountability and public cooperation is imperative to get desired results of policing at different fronts. He said our neighbouring country is always looking to disturb the situation here, but one thing is sure it’s all evil design will fail as in the past.
The DGP said that the efficient initiative taken by the force with other sister agencies have ensured security of the people, besides in maintenance of law & order. He said that our efforts would continue to gain public confidence and foil the sinister designs of anti-national elements. He said that dedication and accountability with highest consideration of public service helped in providing effective policing to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that public cooperation would lead to more successes for the force.
The meeting at Pulwama was attended by Shri Vijay Kumar IGP Kashmir, Shri Atul Goel DIG South Kashmir Range, Shri B S Negi CO CRPF Awantipora, Shri Ashish Kumar Mishra SSP Pulwama and other gazetted officers of the district. At Shopian the meeting was attended by besides, IGP Kashmir, DIG South Kashmir, Brig. Ajay Katoch 12 Sector Hqr. Balpora, Shri A.K Singh CO 44 RR, Shri Amritpal Singh SSP Shopian and other gazetted officers of the district.
These officers briefed the DGP about the counter insurgency operations and overall security scenario of these twin districts.
