Srinagar 12 June (CNS): An old mortar shell was recovered on Monday morning in north Kashmir’s Handwara district by the personnels of Border Security Forces (BSF).
As per reports reaching news agency CNS, the old mortar shell was detected during routine morning exercise of the Road Opening Party to scrutinize the area.
“During the search, the mortar shell was found lying close to the culvert in Bhatpura area,” the reports said.
However, the BSF personnels’ vigilance helped in avoiding the tragedy that could have been fatal if the ammunition had gone off
