Jammu and Kashmir:
Bhartiya Janta Party leader Sofi Yousuf on Sunday said that party has seven lakh, active members, in the Kashmir valley now.
The leader in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said that militants have created fear psychosis among the BJP workers across the Valley but Lotus will bloom like a Tsunami and will washout these anti-national forces.
While condemning the attack on OBC district president Abdul Hamid Najar at Ompora Budgam in which he got injured and is hospitalized, said that these continuous attacks on our party are barbaric.
Meanwhile, All is not well in the BJP Kashmir unit as since past week more than 10 activists disassociated themselves from the party.
As reported by this newspaper 10 leaders of the Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) from south Kashmir had resigned citing various reasons earlier this week.

This comes after the killing of BJP sarpanch Sajad Ahmad Khanday in Vessu area of South Kashmir’s Qazigund on August 06.
Pertinently, After BJP leaders came under attack by militants in the last 72 hours in parts of Kashmir, authorities shifted scores of Panch and Sarpanch to the safer locations.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said Sarpanch and Panchs from Anantnag and Kulgam were shifted to Pandit colony Veesu amid threats faced by security forces.
“We have been facing threats consistently from militant groups. What are we supposed and we were now told for a time being that we will be shifted to Pandit Colony Veesu till August 15”, said a Sarpanch.
He added that we have to work for the welfare the Union Territory. But consistent threats have taken a heavy toll on us and our family. All we want is security so that we can live peacefully.
A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that definitely there were threats to Sarpanch and Panch and we had to do something for a time being we decided to shift them from their home to a place where they will be under protection. All this is permanently for one week or so the officer added.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul has petitioned party’s national president J P Nadda and sought safe accommodation for the party leaders in every district of Kashmir and urged workers and leaders not to come out without security cover.
As per local news agency, he spoke to the party president and has also written a letter to him seeking safe accommodations for party workers and leaders in each district of Kashmir.
