REASI, JUNE 05: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Babila Rakwal today chaired a meeting of District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) to discuss formulation of Action Plan for enforcement of Road Safety measures, decongestion and ensuring smooth traffic flow in the district.The meeting held threadbare deliberations with regard to management of traffic, including identification of black spots, removal of road side objects that distract drivers, creating awareness about road safety rules through print and electronic media, improvement of lighting on vital roads, better functioning of Intelligent Traffic Management System, regular health/eye checkups of drivers and conductors etc.The DC stressed upon all the stakeholder departments to be proactive in formulating a comprehensive Road Safety Action Plan on priority basis. DC stressed on the concerned officers to take all required measures to decongest the City roads for smooth flow of traffic.The Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned departments to spread mass awareness about traffic rules and regulations through print and electronic media. The Deputy Commissioner directed all the members to make coordinated efforts to ensure safety on roads and prompt emergency care.
