Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a roadshow at Birbhum in West Bengal this afternoon. It will be held from Hanuman Mandir Stadium Road to Bolpur Crossroads. Mr Shah will also visit Visva Bharati University at Santiniketan in Bolpur and pay homage to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Home Minister will also address a gathering at the University.

On the first day of his visit to West Bengal yesterday, Mr Shah addressed a rally in Midnapore. He expressed confidence that BJP will form the next government in West Bengal with more than 200 seats. At the rally, Trinamool Congress rebel leader Suvendu Adhikari joined the BJP in the presence of Mr Shah. Apart from Shuvendu Adhikari, 9 MLAs from TMC, CPM, CPI, and Congress also joined the BJP. TMC’s Burdwan East Lok Sabha MP Sunil Mandal, former minister Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, former Lok Sabha member from north Bengal’s Alipurduar Dasrath Tirkey and 15 civic body councillors of TMC and other parties also joined BJP along with at least 20 district-level leaders.
