Srinagar,15-Dec A militant of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed in an overnight encounter at Uzrampathri area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.A top police officer confirmed to about killing of Hizb militant, while identifying him as Feroz Ahmad Dar resident of Heff-Shrimal Shopian.Dar had joined militant ranks in 2017 and was involved in many militancy related incidents, the officer added.The official said that incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including one AK rifle along with three magazines were also recovered from his possession. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation.The encounter started in the midnight after a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area.As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(CNS)
