DGP directs PCD to accelerate work on different projects

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh who is currently on week long tour in Kashmir valley on Wednesday visited Police Complex PCR Kashmir and Zainakot here.

Accompanied by IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar and DIG Central Kashmir, Amit Kumar, the DGP first visited PCR Complex Kashmir and later visited Zainakot Srinagar, which are proposed sites for an NGO/OR Mess and a Police Housing Colony respectively for Jammu and Kashmir police personnel.

At PCR, the DGP inspected various units and enquired about the facilities available to the Jawans.

The DGP was briefed by SSP PCR, Shahid Mehraj, and other officers regarding the functioning of these units and facilities being provided to the police personnel.

The officers during their briefing highlighted some requirements, which were patiently heard by the DGP J&K.

The DGP also directed the officers to identify suitable land in PCR complex for construction of an NGO mess and also impressed upon improvements in the present facilities.

The DGP later visited the proposed site for the construction of a Police Housing Colony in Zainakot area in Srinagar. The land has been got allotted to J&K Police from the Government to fulfill housing needs. The DGP discussed with the technical team of PCD and SSP Srinagar regarding the construction of the project on the spot.

While interacting with the technical team of PCD and other officers, the DGP directed the officers to accelerate the work on pending projects in the Union Territory which was slowed down due to pandemic. He reiterated for preparation of master plans of all approved projects keeping in view the future requirements.

The DGP emphasized on optimum utilization of land to ensure more personnel are benefitted while accomplishing new projects. He directed the officers to identify the urgent requirements of different kinds of work at police colonies, campuses, and other places and address them on priority. The DGP was briefed about the ongoing projects and projects completed in recent times.
