Aug 9: BSF on Monday afternoon claimed that they averted a big militant activity ahead of India’s Independence day by seizing a huge cache of Arms/Ammunitions from a hideout in Poonch.In a statement issued to CNS, BSF on Monday said that on 09 Aug 21, on specific input, a joint ops of BSF was launched with RR and SOG Poonch in the forest area at Vill-Sangad, (Teh-Mankot) under police station Mendhar, Poonch and added that during search operation huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered which includestwo A K – 47 Rifles, four AK 47 Magazine, one Pistol Chinese, 10 Pistol Magazines, one wireless Set I-Com, four Chinese grenades, four Non electric detonators, nine Electric detonators, fifteen fuse Detonator of Chinese Grenades with levers, 16 meter Cordex wires, 257 AK rounds, 68- 9mm rounds of Chinese pistol, 7.85 mm-23 rounds of pistol, two Mobile Phones (Nokia), 12 Battery Mobile Chargers and two Batteries 9V.They added that by recovering such a huge cache of arms a major tragedy has been averted.
