JAMMU: Asking the BJP to explain as to why it has failed in keeping up the promises made to the people and failing the Jammu region on all fronts, Devender Singh Rana Provincial President J&K National Conference said “Not only in jobs to the educated unemployed youth, the BJP has brought the engine of development to a grinding halt thus pushing Jammu and its people to wall. Rana who was addressing a series of meetings at Bamyal and Chibba in DDC constituency Dansal as part of campaigning in DDC polls in favour of Shameem Begum National Conference candidate from Dansal a reserved constituency for Woman Scheduled Tribe candidates, cautioned the BJP against whipping up passions on communal lines. He said that BJP must introspect and then sit on judgement about others. Rana said the divisive politics is dangerous for the diverse Jammu and Kashmir, which is known for its inclusive character the world over. “The people of Jammu have seen through the divisive gam plan of these divisive forces and they will never oblige the hate mongers this time, Rana said adding that BJP stands exposed for its anti-poor and anti-youth policies and these are the segments which are going to punish the party in the upcoming elections for ditching Jammu’s interest. Rana advised the BJP not to hide their non-performance and failures in J&K by raking national and international issues which have nothing to do with the development of Districts in J&K for which elections are being held, he said DDC elections will have no bearing whatsoever on any issue other than basic development of the districts concerned and so it is inappropriate for the BJP to rake up these national and international issues to befool people. Provincial President said National Conference has always worked for strengthening the secular fabric of J&K and will fight all divisive forces who are hell-bent upon tearing apart or creating a wedge between region, countries and people on the basis of religion, caste, language or ethnicity. “National Conference will continue to uphold the values of democracy and secularism which are the basic fundamental principles of the country, ” he maintained. Rana sought a massive mandate for Shameem Begum , National Conference candidate from DDC- Dansal.
