Bandipora , July 09: Bandipora police on Friday along with a joint group of government forces claimed to have arrested one Lashkar-e-Toiba militant with recovered arms and ammunition from Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
In a statement issued to CNS Bandipora police mentioned that based on a specific input regarding movement of militants towards Hajin town for subversive activities a joint Naka was established by Bandipora police, 13RR, IRP 21th Bn and 45 Bn CRPF in Gundjahangeer area of Hajin town.The statement added that during Naka checking movement of a suspicious person was noticed and he was apprehended and he disclosed his identity as Muzammil Sheikh @ Abu Maviya R/o Chandergeer Hajin.“Incriminating material along with live arms and ammunition which includes one Chinese pistol along with live rounds) were recovered from his possession” statement mentions.Pertinently apprehended person had joined militant outfit LeT recently and according to police was tasked to carry out subversive activities in and around Hajin town.In this regard an FIR under relevant sections of law was registered in police station Hajin and further investigation is going on.
