12 August-CNS:- More than 12 drones are hovering for surveillance across Srinagar from Thursday morning. Police and CRPF personnel have been carrying out drone surveillance across Srinagar city in the outskirts of Lal Chowk area.SP Headquarters and SDPO Kothi Bagh along with drone experts are carrying the drone surveillance from Pratap Park to adjoining areas of Lal Chowk from Thursday morning.SP Headquarter, Arif Shah said that, “ The drones are carrying out the surveillance across the radius of 2km area”. These drones would be carrying out the continuous aerial vigilance of the main venue of the Independence Day event, he added.”He also said that ,” with the help of drone experts, we carried out the trials of drones which proved successful in suspecting any suspicious thing or person.”When asked about how many and which areas are being under drone surveillance till 15th August, SDPO Kothi Bagh Ghulam Mohi –ud – deen said that,” more than dozen drones are been hovering across the main city which include the areas of MA Road, Polo View , Residency Road and Lal Chowk.”These drones would help us in suspecting any suspicious activity or person so that we will be prepared for the main day event, he added.”(CNS)
