Kulgam , July 9: After firing few gunshots during nocturnal Cordon and Search Operation in Redwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Militants finally managed to give slip to government forces on Friday managed to give slip to forces after initial exchange of fire.
Jammu Kashmir police on its official Twitter handle mentioned that a search operation, which was launched after a brief exchange of fire, has been called off as militants fled from the spot.It is pertinent to mention that the search operation was launched by a joint team of forces including Army’s Ist RR, CRPF and Kulgam Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.According to police, when the searching party rushed towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces, which was retaliated , triggering an encounter. However, the militants managed to give slip to forces.“Although search operation continued for many hours, it has now been called off” a senior police official said.
