Advisor Sharma reviews Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Calls for speeding up infra structural, other activities

JAMMU, JUNE 19:-Advisor to Lt Governor, KK Sharma, today directed for speeding up the activities being undertaken under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan so that quality school infrastructure is ensured to students besides supplementing various initiatives being taken up in the education sector.
The Advisor was speaking at a review meeting of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
Director School Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta; Director Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Dr Arun Manhas and other senior officers attended the meeting.
Advisor, while reviewing the status of infrastructure projects, directed for speeding up the same maintaining that quality educational infra structure should be provided to the students. He said that officers should work in tandem to ensure early completion of these within the stipulated timelines.
Asking the officers to ensure that the labs of the schools are provided with state of art equipment, the Advisor said that the same would improve the quality of imparting education to a greater extent and the students would also be made aware of the latest technological interventions. He said that lab rooms should be provided to the schools which are not having the facility, as soon as possible.
Advisor, while reviewing the progress of projects which have got stuck due to some bottlenecks, directed for working up a mechanism for removal of these.
Highlighting the importance of information technology in the dissemination of educational initiatives and creating awareness, Advisor directed for creation of IT cells at the State and Divisional level. He said that these would be helpful in further augmenting the online educational initiatives and other associated activities besides their monitoring and getting requisite feedback. These would also act as an interface between the Department, Students and people at large, he added.
Advisor reviewed the progress in expenditure besides the plan sent to the Union MHRD Ministry. It was informed that a plan to the tune of Rs. 2761 crore has already been sent for approval for the financial year 2020-21.
