NCC organises ATC after 15 years in Uri

SRINAGAR: After the span of 15 years, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) organised its Annual Training Camp (ATC) at Army Goodwill School Uri. It was also the first camp in the Kashmir valley after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The camp was organised under the aegis of J&K NCC Directorate Jammu and NCC Group Headquarter Srinagar wherein 110 boys (SD/JD) NCC cadets from different schools and colleges of Uri, Tangdhar, Kupwara, Bandipora, Sopore, Baramulla and Pattan participated in this camp. They underwent rigorous training amid strict adherence of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Government to organise any event. The main purpose of the camp was to bring positive change in youth and imbibe a culture of hard work & dedication among them. All the cadets underwent rigorous training including physical training, drill, weapon training, firing, map reading and grooming in a way to instil confidence among cadets. Special speakers from Chinar Corps gave lecturer on terrorism, Kashmiri & drug menace. GOC of 19 Infantry Div visited the camp and inspected the training norm being followed during the camp. He also felicitated the meritorious cadets after the training session.
