Accused of capturing video of couples, Army man denied bail

Srinagar 17 Aug 21, Saleem, : Boniyar Court denies bail to Territorial Army man Including three accused Persons for extortion, wrongful restraint, assault with intent to outrage modesty, cheating by personating, criminal intimidation and to harass young couples in Boniyar area of North Kashmir.On 3rd August,Police Station Boniyar received information that at village Chehlan, One Person Namely Mohmmad Ilyas Khan along with some other persons were illegally making videos of people particularly young couples who come to visit lower Jhelum on mobile phones by posing as security Personnel and are harassing them by Snatching Valuables, Mobile phones and Cash.Accordingly Baramulla Police registered FIR in Police Station Boniyar for Extortion, wrongful restraint, assault with intent to outrage modesty, cheating by personating and criminal intimidationDuring initial investigation the accused Persons including 161 TA Army Men Namely Shams-u-din and Naseer Ahmad were arrested and their mobile phones in which many recorded audio,video clips and chats were found were seized.Earlier, APP Shahzad Ahmad Yatoo vehemently opposed the bail application by arguing that the accused have committed the offence against society by projecting fake Security Personals and Said that the Investigation of the case is still going on and more arrests are expected and more severe offences are likely to be attracted in the case.Judicial Magistrate Boniyar Shaber Ayaz after listening to both the counsels has rejected the Bail application of all three accused persons.While Rejecting the Bail application Court said that the offences alleged against the accused person could have an unhealthy effect on society and adversely impact personal liberty of individuals.(CNS)
