It is a popular tourist destination for visitors from all over the world.In a statement to PRO defence Srinagar, Col Emron Musavi said that the historically known to be the gateway on the ancient Silk Road connecting Jammu & Kashmir with Tibet, it gives rise to the “Three Sisters” a group of Lidder, Sind and Neelum rivers. It also serves as one of the entry points for the Amarnath Cave.Gujjars and Bakarwals have their unique attachment with the area and have been migrating to these meadows for centuries. These tribes are an integral part of Kashmiri culture.Celebrating the summer season with a view of uniting the populace and showcasing the art, music, culture, games and brotherhood.A large number of locals and tourists attended the event. The fun filled day was dedicated to showcasing art & culture, music, handicrafts and local games like pony racing and log racing, wherein the gujjars and bakarwals participated in large numbers.
