President Kovind addresses KGMU’s 16th convocation; appeals doctors to maintain Indian identity in field of better treatment

    am Nath Kovind has appealed doctors not to use their knowledge and skills only for their livelihood but also for the service of mankind. He said that doctors are venerated like Gods and this belief must be maintained. President Ramnath Kovind was addressing KGMU Lucknow’s 16th convocation through video conferencing today. He said that doctors should not take patients as just medical cases but develop compassion and sensitivity towards them. He emphasized that the duty of doctors is to take care of poor people. Expressing satisfaction at the increasing number of women in the medical profession he said that KGMU is doing tremendously in this direction. He appealed doctors to maintain Indian identity in the field of better treatment. He said that due to timely steps taken by Union and State governments we are able to control and contain the Corona virus pandemic in the country. He congratulated KGMU Lucknow for testing more than 9 lakh covid samples. The President shared his admiration for corona warriors for their contribution in saving the health and lives of people. He also appreciated the former and present students of KGMU for their contributions in the field of medicine and appealed to the fraternity to work harder so that ‘Cure In India’ becomes an idiom.
