Jammu, 02-Feb: Lok Manch staged a protest against authorizing sarpanches to allow construction, reconstruction or alteration of residential houses in this union territory.The protest led by the Lok Manch President Kulbhushan Singh raised anti –govt and anti-law slogans at press club jammu.While talking to Lok Manch president Kulbhushan Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir administration has authorised Sarpanches to grant permission for the construction, reconstruction or alteration of the residential houses in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory but the same needs to be revoked at an earliest as this will create lobbies of corruption in UT.“The order issued permission for commercial building including shops in the rural areas, the authority has been given to a committee headed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of the concerned area while the Tehsildar, town planning concerned, BDO concerned and the Sarpanch of the Halqa Panchayat will be the members of the committe.This is anti-people law and if this will not be revoked immediately,people acroos UT will come on the roads”,Singh added.(CNS)
