JAMMUJ&K woman Constable achieves 3rd rank in All India Police Forces Debate Competition

Saida Akhtar, a woman Constable of J&K Police scored 3rd rank in the All India Police Forces Debate Competition. Topic being “Human Rights”, she feels proud to have represented the UT.She said “I was selected at the Range level in Police Headquarters for the competition. For National level, the arrangement was done in CID Headquarters. The debate happened through video conferencing. Being a constable, I feel proud to have achieved 3rd rank in 2 states among senior rank officers. SP had done good arrangements and everything went smoothly without any issue.”I’m from Kalakot which is a backward area. But I was lucky enough to have my Mamu (Uncle) as my guide. I grew up watching him as a Police officer and fulfilled my dream of becoming one. We are 2 sisters and my parents raised us as their sons. In our Gujjar Bakarwal community, generally it’s not meant good for girls to work as Police officers but my parents and husband have always supported me and I’m proud of them too.” She added.Saida who has served J&K Police for 10 years did her training from SKPA Udhampur believes that her learning has been good especially for the women of our Nation and encourages girls to opt Police service as their career.
