Jammu: 7 Shops Sealed, 22 Persons Arrested For Covid Norms Violation

    Jammu Police arrested 22 persons, sealed 7 shops and registered 20 FIRs against the violators of guidelines, which were issued in wake of rising cases of COVID-19 pandemic.

    According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandak Kohli, police teams from different police stations of district Jammu arrested 22 persons for violating Coronavirus pandemic guidelines in the past 24 hours.

    He added that 22 FIRs were registered at different police stations against the violators. However, 7 shops were also sealed for violating COVID-19 pandemic guidelines, SSP informed.

    Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Khour led by SHO Inspector Balvinder Singh arrested two shopkeepers for violating pandemic guidelines.

    The arrested persons were identified as Pawan Kumar, son of Nathu Ram of Chak Rama and Suresh Singh, son of Bishember Singh of Dehrian.

    Cases under FIR Numbers 25/2021 and 26/2021 under Section 188 IPC have been registered against the arrested persons at Police Station Khour and investigation started.

    However, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali arrested four persons for violating COVID SOPs issued by DM Jammu. The arrested persons were identified as Imran, Azim and Rajesh, trio residents of Chinore and Sunil Sharma, a resident of Janipur Colony.

    Cases under FIR Numbers 52/2021 and 53/2021 under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation initiated.

    A team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket arrested three shopkeepers for violating Coronavirus guidelines.

    The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Hussain, son of Faiz Mohammad of Nai Basti Khanpur, Shakir Rasool, son of Ghulam Rasool of Khanpur and Pritam Singh, son of Gandharab Singh of Niki Market Sidhra.

    Cases under FIR Numbers 180/2021, 181/2021 and 182/2021 under relevant sections have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.

    Teams from Police Stations Pacca Danga led by Inspector Ajit Singh and Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania arrested 7 persons for violating guidelines, issued in wake of rising cases of COVID-19 pandemic.

    Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and Bahu Fort and investigation initiated.
