US President-elect Joe Biden has picked up Indian-American physician Dr Vivek Murthy as one of the co-chairs of the COVID-19 task-force to handle the pandemic.Murthy has been named as co-chair alongside the former Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner David Kessler to lead the 12 member task-force, Biden’s deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield told “Meet the Press” on Sunday. Murthy was the former vice admiral in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, who served as the nineteenth Surgeon General of the United States.
Joe Biden in his first address to the nation as President-elect said that the primary objective for the US leadership now is to stop the spread of Coronavirus and he plans to name a group of experts to help with that task.
