High court Bar association condemns “blasphemous content” Seeks legal action against the publisher

    Srinagar, 06-Dec;The J&K High Court Bar Association , Srinagar condemns the publication of a book in the name of History and Civics prescribed in Syllabus for 7th class students as printed and published by JAY CEE Publications Private Limited Delhi , which contains blasphemous contents and photographs and sketches of Prophet Mohammad ( SAW) and Angel Gibreal in chapter –II at page 33 of the controversial book.In an extra ordinary meeting of the J&K High Court Bar Association presided over by its Chairman Advocate N.A. Ronga , it was observed that the blasphemous contents including the sketches of Prophet Mohamamd (SAW) and Angle Gibreal are blasphemous, hurting the religious sentiments and believes of the Muslims across the world, which has every likelihood of communal disharmony and communal tension. The Bar Association is deeply disturbed on printing and publishing this kind of book and at the same time prescribing the same as controversial book in syllabus for 7th class students. As such stern action is demanded against Author, Printer and Published of the above referred and necessary action also deserved to be taken against the Educational Governing Bodies and Authorities for prescribing the Controversial book in syllabus for 7th class students.In the meeting it was demanded that the controversial book be withdrawn from the market and from the syllabus of the 7th class students immediately throughout India. It was also decided that Bar Association will take appropriate proceedings against the Printer, Publisher and Author of the controversial Book which has inherent potential to disturb the communal harmony and hurt the religious sentiments and beliefs of the Muslim Community. It was observed in the meeting that District Bar Association J&K are also requested to lodge FIR against the Publication of the Book as is done by the District Bar Association, Budgam. and all the District Bar Associations of Valley are requested to take legal and stern action against the Author, Publisher and Printer of the Controversial book.
