    Ganderbal 27 Aug: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has scheduled offline exams of the students of various departments amid non-availability of hostel and transport facilities for the students.Students today staged a protest outside the university’s green campus Ganderbal demanding the Varsity implementation of UGC guidelines and conducting examinations through online mode.The move has agitated the students who have opposed the decision to hold offline exams without providing basic facilities to the students.They said scores of students have been informed that they are not eligible for the examination as they didn’t attend online classes.“As per UGC guidelines, online classes should be conducted on a voluntary basis and students can’t be compelled to attend the classes.This should not have been made a yardstick for eligibility,” they said.The protesting students were carrying placards seeking implementation of University Grants Commission guidelines.“Either give us marks on internal assessment basis or conduct exams in online mode, besides make all the students eligible for the examination who have gone into depression over University ‘diktat’,they Earlier, students had staged a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar to oppose the university’s decision. The students had alleged that they are being deprived of basic facilities by the university but at the same time are forced to appear in offline exams without hostel accommodation and transport facility.
