Srinagar 18 Aug: A day after the incident of thrashing of journalists while performing their professional duties, the police officer along with his team who was recorded on camera while thrashing media has beenRemoved from his position and others have either been transferred or attached.The DGP had ordered SSP Srinagar to take immediate action against the police officer for “undesirable behavior’’.“The police officer has been removed from his position,” the top police officer told .Meanwhile, according to official sources three cops have been attached to DPL and six others have been transferred.Police on Tuesday resorted to lathi charge against the media who were covering shia mourners processions at Jahangir chowk. The incident provoked outrage from various political parties, civil society groups and KPC.Earlier, DGP in a tweet had assured and directed SSP Srinagar to take the immediate action against those involved in assault.(CNS)
