Tral, 01-March: BJP JK spokesman Altaf Thakur while addressing a huge gathering at Machama, Tral today assured the people there that the remaining water resources of about 25 percent that are being used by locals for drinking purpose and agriculture purpose wont be snatched and that BJP will take up the issue with the higher ups on priority.Thakur visited Machama area Tral where men, women and children had assembled in large numbers to listen to the speech of BJP JK spokesman. Thakur was given a warm reception by people. He was accompanied by district president Pulwama Sajad Raina and other party workers.Speaking on the occasion, Thakur said that he was aware that 75 percent water resources in Machihama were already being utilised by PHE department while only 25 percent remaining was left for people.He assured people that the remaining water resources of 25 percent will be kept for drinking and irrigation of agriculture land of the area and he will personally pursue the issue. Thakur urged JK LG Manoj Sinha, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, and PHE officials to ensure that the remaining water is kept for locals of Machama, Tral.Thakur also listened to the other grievances of people related to sanitation, drinking water, and electricity. He assured people that all the issues will be resolved in a time bound-manner as he will take up the same with the concerned officials. He said that BJP was committed to the welfare of people and the vision and mission of Prime Minister Narendera Modi is being followed in spirit across the country and JK is a special focus.(CNS)
