Srinagar: 21st October 2020:
Today on 21/10/2020, 02 Police Public meetings with Transport representatives of New Kashmir Transport Company and New Taxi Stand Hazratbal were held by SDPO Zakoora.
The participants were given warm welcome and the participants were asked to ensure maximum distance in the vehicles and follow the SoP for COVID-19 strictly.
During the meeting, certain issued were raised:-
- Transporters of Hazratbal area (New Kashmir Transport Company), (New Taxi Stand Hazratbal) were asked to keep continuous availability of transport till late evening to facilitate devotees visiting Hazratbal Shrine in view of Eid-Milad-Nabi (saw).
- A grave concern of route violations from Maisuma Stand, Exchange Road are on prowl and thus hamper their proper functioning, violators misbehave with passengers and overcharge thus creating chaos within the Jurisdiction.
- They want action to be taken against violators running without proper Government orders, Service Licences etc.
- They have requested that the matter be taken up with RTO Srinagar to sort the issue.
Moreover, they have been asked to refrain from overcharging the passengers. The participants have assured that they will abide by the Law and will cooperate with Police. The meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere and culminated on a positive note.
