RAMBAN, MARCH 13: Mussarat Islam, Deputy Commissioner Ramban and chairman of the District Level Forest Right Act Committee (DLFRAC), convened a meeting to review the progress of claims disposal under the Forest Right Act in the district.Councillor DDC Gool, Sakhi Mohd; DFO Ramban, Dr Rajan Singh and other nominated members of the DLC participated in the meeting.During the meeting, a thorough discussion was held on the progress of claims disposal under the Forest Right Act. The DFO apprised the committee of all the claims on a case-by-case basis and decisions were made in all cases. Thirteen cases were returned and twelve cases were disposed of.The Deputy Commissioner directed that the SDLC should properly scrutinise cases before forwarding them to the DLC. He emphasised the need for a coordinated approach to effectively implement the Forest Rights Act and asked the concerned departments to work in cooperation to achieve the desired results.
