Reopening of Schools: DC Doda seeks effective safety measures in educational institutions

Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma today asked to constitute committees to suggest and implement all safety measures in schools for starting physical classes.In view of the UT Government order to reopen the schools, the DC today chaired the second round of meeting of the concerned to discuss the arrangements for hassle free reopening of the educational institutions falling in the winter zone. During the meeting, the DDC inquired from the CEO and HoIs about the action taken for following the guidelines issued by the school education department for resuming offline classes. It was informed that schools will start offline classes up to Class 10 from 28th February 28 onward, while class work for 11th and 12th would be started after declaration of board results and completion of admission process.Moreover, the CEO apprised that in the institutions with high enrollment the classes will be held in double shifts or on alternate day basis.The DDC directed the CEO to ensure that all safety measures were put in place in advance across the district including sanitization of school premises and school buses.The DDC directed the CMO to share the list of health institutions and doctors with the education department for prompt evacuation of students having covid symptoms. He further asked to vaccinate all the left out students in the age group of 15 to 17 years within the next three days.Further the ADC was directed to constitute committees to inspect the implementation of safety protocols in every institution before Feb 28. The CEO was asked to submit in writing about the safety measures taken and the list of staff members not vaccinated, if any, and initiate action against them.Regarding Higher education institutions including Degree Colleges, ITI, Polytechnic College and also KV/ JNV, the DDC directed all the heads of institutes to ensure that all safety measures are put in place well in advance so that safety and security of all the students including staff members shall be ensured without any fail.The meeting was attended by ADC Doda, Principal GDC Doda, Principal GDC Bhaderwah, CMO Doda, CEO Doda, Principal Govt GHSS Doda, Principal Polytechnic college Doda, Superindent ITI Doda, besides representatives of Colleges, KV, JNV, were also present in the meeting.
