Three Al-Badr militants, Four OGW’s arrested in North Kashmir;Police

    Baramulla,12-Feb; Three militants and four associates were arrested by security forces in North Kashmir’s Dangwachi area of Sopore, police said.A top police officer said that three active militants of Al-Badr have been arrested along with arms and ammunition by joint team of Police and security forces in Sopore.In a statement issued to media the police spokesman said that on receiving a specific information, a joint CASO by Sopore Police, 32 RR and 92 CRPF Bn was launched at Rawoocha Rafiabad, that proscribed militant outfit Al-Badr is planning to carry out attacks on security forces in sopore at several places. Meanwhile, during search operation 3 uncategorised militant were arrested alongwith incriminating material including arms and amunitions were recovered.” During preliminary questioning they revealed their identity as Waris Tantry S/O Abd Lateef Tantray R/O Rawoocha Rafiabad, Amir Sultan Wani S/O Mohd Sultan Wani R/O Nowpora Sopore and Tariq Ahmed Bhat S/O Sanaullah Bhat R/O Chontipora Handwara.”” During questioning subjects revealed that they are working from last 2 years for Al -Badr outfit on directions of their handlers @Yousuf Balousi R/O Pakistan and @Khursheed R/O Anantnag A/P Pakistan. Subjects were given task to revive militancy in Rafiabad Sopore, Recruitment of youth in Al – Badr tanzeem , providing logistics support to terrorists, procurement and arranging weapons for new recruits etc,” he said.” Further on their disclosure another uncategorised militant namely Ashraf Nazir Bhat S/O late Nazir Ahmed Bhat was picked up in a joint CASO by Sopore police and 21 RR, and three militant associates /OGWs namely Mohd Ashraf Malik S/O Mohd Akbar Malik R/O Drungsoo, Mohd Afzal Thokar S/0 Abdul Aziz Thokar R/O Kalamabad Mawar Handwara and Shabir Ahmed Shah S/0 Ghulam Hassan Shah R/O Sherhama Mawar Handwara were arrested,” the statement further reads.”Incriminating materials including arms and amunition, huge amount of cash, and other war like material were also recovered from their possession. In this regard , a case wide FIR NO. 14/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Dangiwacha, and further investigation is in progress,” it concludes.(CNS)
