KUs’ nursing, B.tech students’ stage protest, demand online exams

    Srinagar,08-Feb;A group of B.Sc nursing and B.tech students affiliated with Kashmir University on Tuesday held a protest demanding online examinations.The students appeared at Lal Chowk’s press enclave, raising slogans in support of their demand.Agitating students said they couldn’t appear in offline mode given the surge in COVID-19 cases in Kashmir.The protesting students said that they are protesting against the decision of the Kashmir University as they have decided to conduct offline exams of all the students when 90 percent classes were conducted online.“We all are the students from Kashmir University and its affiliated colleges having assembled here to protest against the proposed offline examination mode by the varsity”, an agitated student said adding they have already moved multiple representations before the University authorities, respective Department and Colleges to seek online examinations as, according to him, they have attended the classes in online mode only.There have been guidelines from the University Grants Commission (UGC) that exams should be conducted online, “protesting students said, adding that they had taken up the issue with Kashmir University authorities earlier as well, “but no heed was paid to their issue”.A protestor said that there is already a one-year delay in the examination. He said their precious time is being wasted by the varsity authorities.Reiterating their demand, the students said we urge the LG led dispensation to kindly intervene into the matter at an earliest.(CNS)
