Additional Chief Secretary reviews functioning of Directorate of Health Services Jammu

Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department, Vivek Bhardwaj, today reviewed functioning of Directorate of Health Services Jammu during his visit here.He was accompanied by DG Planning H&ME Satvir Kour, Additional Secretary H&ME, Rajeshwar Charak and MD JKMSCL, Dr. Yash Pal Sharma.Bhardwaj convened a meeting to assess working of the department which was attended by Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and other senior officers of the Directorate besides Chief Engineer PWD Manzoor Hussain.A detailed PowerPoint Presentation was given by Director Health Services regarding the working, performance and achievements of the department.He also gave a detailed description regarding various Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in Jammu division like TEP, NVBDCP, IDSP, NPCDCS, NTCP and Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushdhi Kendra. He also informed about Kayakalp awards won by various health institutes of Jammu division.Additional Chief Secretary directed STO to increase TB notification especially by Private doctors and practitioners. He also issued directions to increase institutional deliveries from 92% to 100%, saying that audit of all maternal deaths should be carried out in detail.Additional Chief Secretary directed the Chief Accounts Officer to project funds for repair of buildings of the department. He also gave directions to project fund requirement under Civic Action Plan for Biomedical Waste Management.The issue regarding reasons for delay in DPC of non-gazetted staff was discussed and necessary instructions were issued by Additional Chief Secretary for timely conduct of the same.Director Health Services, Jammu projected the issue regarding shortage of space at existing DHS Complex.Additional Chief Secretary directed DHS Jammu to submit a detailed DPR for construction of new “Swasthya Bhavan” after working out the modalities in this regard.
