Pulwama Encounter: Pakistani LeT commander among three militants killed, says IGP

    Srinagar , July 14: Three militants including a top LeT commander was killed in an encounter between the militants and government forces in New Colony of Prichoo area of South Kashmir’s most volatile district Pulwama. Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told that top LeT commander identifying him as Ajaz alias Abu Huraira of Pakistan was killed along with two local militants in Pulwama Gunfight.On this occasion IGP congratulated Police and forces for conducting this operation smoothly without sustaining any damage.A joint team of Police, CRPF & Army had launched a cordon-and-search operation in Pulwama town after receiving specific input about the presence of some militants in the area.During the searches contact was established as the hiding militants opened fire on the searching party and a gunfight ensued which resulted in the killing of 3 militants including a top LeT Commander.Meanwhile internet services were snapped in the police division Pulwama as precautionary measure.Strict restrictions has been imposed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town following a gunfight in New Colony area of the district on Wednesday“The restrictions have been imposed in entire Pulwama town “as a precautionary measure” to avert any untoward incident” said an official
