VIJAYPUR: Accusing BJP of having played a second fiddle to PDP during its coalition rule in J&K, Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP chairman said the aspirations of people of Jammu region were disregarded and ruthlessly trampled upon by BJP leadership. He said with entire focus on Kashmir issues, people of Dogra land are taken for granted by the BJP led government. Addressing public meetings at villages Daulatchak, Nanga in Vijaypur and villages Chak Manga, Bouli in Samba in support of JKNPP candidates Rajni Jamwal (Vijaypur-B), Meenu Bhagat (Ramgarh-C) and Vipan Bhagat (Samba-A) respectively, Singh said not only J&K BJP leadership ignored Jammu but the Central government too remained inclined towards Kashmir with hardly any initiative taken to addressing the age old bias against Jammu region. “While thousands of stone-pelters were released and amnesty given to several other separatists in Kashmir, the projects of Sainik Colony and KP Township schemes were summarily rejected and shelved by BJP under the pressure of anti-national and separatist forces,” he claimed adding that it was during BJP rule that Asiya Andrabi featured amongst ‘Women Achievers’ of the country in an exhibition organized by Social Welfare Department and her photograph withdrawn only after the episode sparked outrage amongst the masses. Harsh Dev said not a single promise made by BJP during elections has been honoured. “Once again BJP is trying to use the name of Modi to work as its crutches,” he said. He also said that issues like discrimination in recruitments particularly by PSC and SSB, delimitation of Assembly constituencies, deportation of Rohingyas, withdrawal of cases against the youth booked during Amar Nath land row, Artificial Tawi Lake, Dogri satellite channel, holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday etc which were raked up by BJP workers have no takers in their own government. Yash Paul Kundal, Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Pratap, Mohinder Singh, Yashpaul Sharma, Khatab Hussain, Rajni Jamwal, Meenu Bhagat and Vipan Bhagat also spoke on the occasion.
